Is Visa widely acepted throughout Manila? |
Travel Info I'll be visiting in December and wanted to know how widely credit cards are used. Travel Tips Yes. Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discovery. You can also use your debit cards if they have the plus and cirrus logo. Tons of ATM/Debit machines around, maybe 5 in every corner. I suggest you just use your credit card if you can since the service charge (mostly 3%) of these credit cards are negligible when they convert it to USD. I don't advise you to bring in foreign currency in large amounts it is not very safe and practical since credit cards are widely accepted. And if you really need to bring in cash, go to SM, Banco de Oro or any bank to exchange it. There are tons of money changer around but it's not that safe. Enjoy your trip! And oh I almost forgot, a week before your trip make sure you call your credit card companies and let them know that you are travelling and should expect charges coming from establishments in the Philippines. Others Yes dahling, it's been accepted for decades now. And by the way, we don't swing from tree to tree now. We swing by threes over buildings now. It's more efficient. We accept Visa for that too, oh sorry, we only accept platinum Amex cards for that. For those who didn't get what I meant. *sheesh*, forget it. Your mentalities dahlings may have been retroed back to the past. For short, It meant -"No offense but do you think we're some backward country down the Pacific dahling?" People can't appreciate or recognize irony these days. *Yawn* Irritatingly me... Yes, Visa and mastercard are both widely accepted. yes All leading department stores, supermarket accepts visa and mastercard as well as amex. Mall stores also accept credit card as well as some little shops. Just a friendly reminder, be careful in using your card in little shops as they might add an extra fee for using a credit card. So ask first if the price is the same when using your card. Yes, VISA and any other credit cards are widely accepted not only in Manila but throughout the Philippines, big or small store. |
