As for your Legal Capacity to Married all you need is your passport, but if you've been married before you need to bring a certified copy of your divorce/death record to get the license. Others if you are planning of a grand wedding you need 1 month. You'll need 10 days. That is it. If you plan on staying longer than 3 weeks, make sure to get an extended tourist visa. The point is not how long you have to wait, but how long it will take to get your paperwork in order. One Item is to get a cert. from the embassy that you are not already married, a birth cert. to prove that you're you, a health check, a 2 month visa, and probably others (I forget). Civil wedding is is cheaper and faster. Been there done it. It depends if what kind of marriage you are planning, church wedding takes a month or less to prepare while civil rights wedding takes only a week to process if your documents are complete. For church wedding you need to plan it carefully, it depends if it is simple or elegant wedding. For elegant wedding at least 1 month. You need to plan the reception, food, brides wedding dress, sponsors, attend church seminar, process documents, etc. Follow the advice of "Bill O" he (like me) is married and living in Cebu. |
