I need some tips on Banana Planting/ Growing...please lend me one!? |
Travel Info Hi there, I am a newbie in banana planting, Just would like to get some tips on how to grow banana trees better, there are too many online resources, I want to try personal insights this time. Thanks! Travel Tips Bananas aren't trees..they are herbs. We were told this when we visited Auckland Museum hot/cold houses last year. The trunk of the 'tree' isn't solid (if you push it hard enough it will bend) We were also told that they only produce fruit once then you need to graft some of the old plant onto a new one to make the new one produce fruit and then repeat..... Hope this helps. Others If you're in the Philippines try consulting or go to your nearest Department of Agriculture regional office and ask some advice. put the banana in the dirt, cover it up, wait 10-12 years. watch it grow |
