When is Michael Moore's movie "Sicko" gonna be shown in the Philippines? |
Travel Info Is it showing already? Are you gonna watch it? Travel Tips I heard so much about it.....non-stop from my bf who's obviously so anti-Bush. The docu-film has been talked a lot here at Y!A...here's a sample of his many answers to all the Michael Moore Qs. "..........and it was pretty amazing. It showed the 9/11 rescue people who were called heroes by Bush and Giuliani but now they need health care from the injuries and problems they got working on ground zero. Why won't America take care of our heroes????? That's the question we need to answer. Also how can every other country like us give everyone health care and why can't we?? We need answers to these questions. See the film!" Others hinde! masama kang tao! hinde wala! walang bawian! huwahaha! I am going to watch it here in the States. I actually like Michael Moore. His documentaries are interesting. I just heard it from you PT and now it's making me curious about that 'sicko' documentary but nothing can beat that manic well here at YAP. <*-*> There will probably be illegal copies of the movie on DVD as soon as August 1. Sicko is Michael Moore's latest expose documentary that slams the US's deficient health care system, which is monopolized by profit seeking private industry. "Deficient" is a term used relative to the state of the US's system as compared to the socialized medicine practiced in Canadian, Western European and modernized Far Eastern countries like Japan and South Korea. Even then, the troubles and inequities of the US health care industry seem insignificant to the Philippines--which has a practically missing health care system that guarantees improper care (through lack of medical insurance and tangible government assistance) if you are poor. Probably never. There's almost no market for documentaries here in the Philippines. "Bowling for Columbine" was never shown here. "Fahrenheight 9/11" was, however, but I don't think that many people saw it. I saw both though, and I think it's really good, it's just that, not too many Filipinos care about US domestic affairs. |
