I have 3 days in Phoenix/Tempe AZ. What should i see or do? |
Travel Info The farthest that i want to drive is about 3 hours from phoenix. What are the must see atractions, and or landmarks? Travel Tips Depends on what your interests are. Are you traveling with family? Young or old? Do you enjoy the outdoors or are you interested in staying inside? We have some great "cultural" places to go here such as the Phx Art Museum, and we also have a lot of venues for shows and concerts such as ASU's Gammage Auditorium, The Orpheum, Hale Theatre, and Dodge Theatre. Of course we have the Tempe Improv and great places to listen to local musicians. There are also tons of places to go to see SW-specific things. The Heard Museum is a great place to go to see Native-American culture celebrated and the Desert Botanical Garden shows the beautiful variety of plants and wildlife we have here. You can stay in the city or head out to the many trails we have here for hiking, repeling, and even panning for gold. You can head out to Tucson for even more (about a 1-1/2 hours drive), and you can head on over to the Biosphere. We also have wineries in the Elgin/Patagonia area that produce excellent wines that have even been served in the White House. We also have the Lowell Observatory near Tucson. Or you can head up to Sedona and check out the great local artists and charming feel of their city. Prescott is only about 1-3/4 hours north and downtown has a feeling of the old west. Oh, we haven't even started on the shopping here either! We have everything from heading down to the border for some fun bartering, to Tiffany's in Scottsdale Fashion Center, to Native American goods being sold on the reservation. Speaking of the reservations, we have quite a few here and they provide us with their cultural influences and of course, gaming. If you are not in the mood to play some black jack you can always enjoy the great restaurants we have here. There is a reason that foodies love the Valley of the Sun! Okay, enough of this rambling. I think you get the idea that there is a lot to do here, you just need to decide what you are looking for! Others The Zoo! You know, theres not really that much to do. If you do go to the zoo, go at night for Zoolights and they have christmas lights and stuff put up. Theres also the Santa's Theme Park at Firebird Raceway. But those might not be that great considering its raining this weekend. If you do go, just Mapquest Phoenix Zoo and Firebird Raceway.Theres also the Grand Canyon but thats at least four hours away, if not more. Payson, AZ has snow right now and its really pretty if your thinking scenery. Thats about 2 hours away, an hour and a half if theres no traffic. Hope I helped! I live here LAS VEGAS You should go down to Tucson or up to Flagstaff |
