How many time does it take to drive from Phoenix to? |
Travel Info Yuma, Arizona? Yuma is close to the border with mexico, close to mexican cities like mexicali, or tijuana in baja california mex. Travel Tips about 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours...depending on which side of Phoenix you leave from, how fast you drive, and traffic Others ,Phoenix to Yuma is about a 3 hour drive. Yes it is close to the Mexican border but no cities of any significance. Mexicali borders Calexico, California, and TJ is just south of San Diego, California. The trip takes less than three hours. The way to go is to take I-10 out of Phoenix heading west. At Exit 112 close to Buckeye, turn south on Route 85. This will take you down to I-8 close to Gila Bend. At this point enter I-8 and go west. This should take you all the way to Yuma. www.mapquest.com I was just there last Wednesday and it is about 3 hours and once you go from Yuma over the California border about one mile you will see a sign that says Algodonas, Mexico. Take the exit, drive one mile, pay $3 to park in the Indian Reservation parking lot and walk on over to Mexico, wonderful little border town with wonderfully friendly people. My only problem with the whole day is the guys selling asparagus, didn't matter how many times you said "NO" they kept bugging us! Oh well, that's a day in a Mexican border town. Less than three hours, more if you have to stop for potty breaks You might want to check out a map sometime, Yuma is only halfway to Tijuana from Phoenix...though Mexicali is only an hour farther than Yuma. 20 miles south of Yuma is the Mexican border city of San Luis. I suspect its 140,000 residents might take exception to the one person saying it has no significance. (Someone else who probably has never looked at a map.) By the way, the asparagus is fresh and delicious. |
