How long of a drive from Scottsdale to Rocky Point? |
Travel Info Hey, I'm moving from OC to Scottsdale on Friday. Obviously i am going to miss the beach, but i've been told that the drive to Rocky Point isnt to rough. Does anyone know about how long a drive it will be? Any feedback would be MUCH appreciated :) Travel Tips Scottsdale is great you will love it, I have lived here for my whole 24 years! It is only about 4 to 5 hours, depending on how fast you drive! Its only 4 hours to Vegas and back home to the OC about 6 to 7 hrs! You will love it here, go to Old Town Scottsdale for restaraunts! Others I would plan on a 5 hour trip...it probably won't take you that long (closer to 4 hours), but you never know with traffic, spring break crowds, or even border issues. Driven it MANY times. It takes about 4 hours from Scottsdale. You have to be prepared for a lot of bad things that could happen if you go during spring break, memorial or labor day. It's a nightmare and bad things like theft, mexican cops messing with you happens ALL THE TIME!!!! Be careful!! Make sure ypu drive 2 cars too in case one breaks downj as your phones don't work down there. Once you're actually there, it's pretty Americanized, it's just once you get to the Mexican border there is about an hour straight drive through a deserted road that you have to take. Pretty simple drive though. I always went the weekend before or after a major holiday for a much better, less crowded time. When I drove a few years ago it took me about 5 hours. It's a good drive - not just a couple hours. The big thing in Arizona, since we have no beach, are the lakes. Lake Pleasant, lake Havasu, and lake Powell are the big lakes in Arizona.
