What's an average decent apartment go for in Phoenix, AZ? |
Travel Info I'm working on moving to AZ and I'm trying to get a feel for apartments, cost of living, job market, ect. websites would be appreciated. Travel Tips Use craigslist apt listings. You can find much cheaper listings than on forent or any other one. The msn one sucks *** but has some listings as well but craigslist you can find 2 bedrooms for 650 in nice areas and 3 bedrooms for 800, etc. Happy hunting!! Source(s): http://phoenix.craigslist.org/apa/... http://www.forrent.com/ Other Travel Tips Depends on where in the area and how nice you want the apartment to be, as well as how many bedrooms. I would say for a decent apartment you can expect to pay $600 for a one bedroom and on up to $1100 for a three bedroom. 2 bedroom's are around $800. You can find them for more and less expensive as well. I will tell you the last time I rented was almost 2 years ago though, so.... I suggest looking online, but also going to an apartment hunter. They are free for you to use (the apartments pay them) and they can help you find apartments in your price range and level of niceness in a specific area, so that you don't have to do all the leg-work. You can also try apartments.com Apartments are pretty cheap compared to most places and it is said to be going down soon. The price depends on the area, size and quality. 1 bedroom apartments usually run between, $400-$850. 2 bedroom apartments usually run between $500-$1200 The most expensive apartments are in the Scottsdale and Biltmore areas (around Fashion Square). Try these websites: www.azcentral.com www.forrent.com I live in PHX Expect to pay $1000 per month for a modern nice place in a good part of time. You can get a decent 2-bdrm 2-bath in an acceptable area for $750-$1000 with washer/dryer in unit. Variation mostly depends on the area it is located in, Ahwatukee will be higher for the same apartment than North Phoenix. The San Valiente apartments at 19th Ave & Dunlap are nice, the area has its ups & downs but not really much different than any of the other average (ie, non-millionaire trust fund) areas of Phoenix. There is a decent place at the corner of 23rd Ave & Butler too that is smaller and not as upscale but also cheaper. Stay away from South Phoenix, West Phoenix, steer clear of anything West of the I-17 and South of Camelback within Phoenix unless you want helicopters hovering and shining lights on you half the night. I am a big fan of: http://www.rent.com It is run by the owners of Ebay. Great video, photos, floorplans, estimated rent, specials, etc. If you create a list and then rent from one of the places you added to your list, you can apply for a $100 prepaid visa from them. I also like: http://www.apartmentratings.com... for others experiences with a place. |
