Winslow is a small town north of Phoenix, most memorable by a Snoopy on a rocket model on the main road leaving. I pass through it a lot, but never stoped to see what it is really like. It's pretty shitty, honestly, but it seems to have a nice aptmosphere. But don't visit. It's really nothing more than some houses, a bar and a few knick-knack stores. Every time I pass it I am amazed at how dusty the town is and how poorly some of the horses and livestock we pass are kept.

You can easily spend several days exploring this charming railroad town. Winslow offers everything from antique car shows to rodeos, Native American culture to cowboy culture, rock climbing, rock art or rock music - Winslow has it all!

The "Standin鈥?on a Corner" Park
Located in downtown Winslow is "The Corner", made famous by the song "Take It Easy". Written by Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne, "Take It Easy" became The Eagles first hit single in the 70's, and peaked peoples interest in Winslow. The verse "Standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona," draws visitors from far and wide to stand on the famous corner. The "Standin' on a Corner" Park is located in historic downtown Winslow and features a life size bronze statue and a two story mural depicting the story behind the famous song. Be sure to read the inscribed bricks that pave the park.

Winslow today is timeless... very much in touch with it's past, in tune with the present, and right on target for it's future. Due to its location and the influence of the railroad industry, Winslow is a combination of cultures...European, Native American, Hispanic, Asian, Black, and Anglo American... all blended together to share a strong sense of community pride in this place we call home.

The casual lifestyle in Winslow is peaceful and relaxed...set in an overall atmosphere of warmth and hospitality...greeting visitors with open arms as guests of our city. We like to say that we're "The City of Ten Thousand Friendly Faces."

Big bowl shaped hole in the ground. Were stellar material took a swipe at the earth. No good for fishing. Were "STARMAN" was filmed, well at least part of it anyway. It is were "Starman" was going to be viserated. Other then that it is dry and hot during the summer, cold and dry during the winter. Are you hot to trot?
i have been there and i think it is absolutely wonderful i would preffer to live there instead of here in tucson lol
Visited it 2 years ago. It is a small old town. Think it has one walmart, a Safeway and a Bashas. As well as a few gas stations by the freeway. Pretty much that corner is the only thing they have going for them there is a gift shop across the street where you can by "standing on the corner" merchandise.
