I've lived i Arizona so I know this.
1. It's in the Southwest.
2. It's pretty far south.
3. It's in the middle of a desert, partly caused to exist by western and northern mountains catching incoming storms of rain so it doesn't rain there.
4. It's at a lower altitude than Tucson, Arizona (at 2400 feet elevation).
5. They've overbuilt there so much, the concrete absorbs and reflects sunlight and it's gotten even hotter.
6. It's got too many people, automobile exhausts and other things making it even worse.
