What's the distance in hours and miles from Phoenix Arizona to Flagstaff Arizona? |
Travel Info What's the distance in hours and miles from Phoenix Arizona to Flagstaff Arizona? Travel Tips mapquests distance is right but as always their times are questionable. Allow at least 2.5 hours to do that trip ,possibly more . The problem is that there is one really steep uphill climb leaving Phoenix- Black Canyon and another one as you pass the rest area by the Sedona exit .In both cases if you get stuck behind a slow moving vehicle or two, you will be there a while. Also if there is an accident , there usually isn't an available service road to bail out to so basically you're stucked . Edit : I used to do it in under two hours too But I also had I-17 memorized. I just wanted to add some fat to the time given so if he had to meet a person at a given time in "Flag " He wouldn't have to be hauling ashes the entire way to get there. Capieche ? Source(s): me- used to drive it twice a week for a year. Other Travel Tips Yahoo maps says that it is 144.8 miles and it will take 2 hours and 11 minutes I make it in an hour and a half. It is a 2 hour drive from Phoenix to Flagstaff. There will be steep inclines along the way. I don't know anybody who takes over two hours to get from Phoenix to Flag (as us natives call it). But I suppose it depends where in Phoenix you start from... Mesa or Glendale, etc. Its about a 2-3 hour drive, but if you old and go the speed limit it could take 4-5 hours. Coming back takes alot longer usually, getting back into phoenix on the I-17 is horrible. |
