What's the commute like in Tempe?

My fiance and I are relocating to tempe, but we may not find a place in the city so I was wondering what the commute was like with ASU being in Tempe...

Like the others have said it depends upon where you will be commuting to from Tempe. The worst would be having to drive into downtown Phoenix from Tempe. Living in the Tempe area and driving to the ASU vicinity is no big deal, but everywhere else during those rush hour time periods is a huge headache both in the AM and PM! Other Travel Tips

Traffic in Phx is bad all around. Tempe is no exception. Since ASU is there, it generates a lot of traffic. Plus, everything is really close together-shops, bars, restaurants, ect, so I find it difficult to get around easily and quickly. However, if you live, work and attend school in Tempe, you'll figure out how to get around quickly, whether it's discovering short cuts or utilizing the public transportation.
Hi my husband and I live in Tempe...just about .5 miles away from ASU. The commute anywhere in Phoenix is bad during rush hour: 7 AM - 9 AM and then 3:30 PM - 7 PM. ASU doesn't effect you so much unless you are driving within a 1-2 mile radius of the campus. We like it and have not had any problems in regards to the campus being so close...the only issues we have is all the construction going on.
