Travel Info I am taking a trip to Phoenix in a week what are some fun things to do malls, sights, waterparks...etc? Travel Tips Golfland/Sunsplash is the best water park. (it is the one they filmed Bill and Ted's excellent adventure at when Napoleon ran away to the waterpark) Other things to do are float the salt river, boating and other water sports at Saugaro (S) lake or Lake Pleasant (N). There is an old western town called Rawhide. You can take jeep tours or hummer tours of the desert (www.azhummertours.com). Or for an overhead view you can take balloon rides as well. Another idea is day trips. You can visit Sedona (very pretty), Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, Tuscon, or even Mexico. These are all withing driving distance for a great Day trip. If you are looking for nightlife the best clubs are in Old Town Scottsdale. (They also have great shopping and restaurants there too). Source(s): Work for Marriott in Phoenix, lots of Concierge experience Other Travel Tips Well, it depends on what part of Phoenix you are going to. As far as malls go, there's the Arrowhead Mall in the northwest area, Desert Sky Mall on the lower west side, Metrocenter Mall near I-17, Paradise Valley mall kind of in the central north side, on the north end of town off the loop 101, the Desert Ridge mall (an outdoor mall, but nice), and on the east side Scottsdale Fashion Square mall (very upscale) and near 1-10 and the 60 is the Mills mall (very big outlet type mall). There's more, but those are the ones I've been to. There are 3 major water parks in the area, but in this summer heat, the pavement gets really hot! They have a Cabella's and they just opened a Bass Pro shop, even if you're not into hunting and fishing, it's cool to look at a lot of the other things they have there. There are 3 water parks Waterworld, Sunplash, and Big Surf. Also the malls are Arrowhead or Chandler mall are the best. Oh and Castles and Coasters is somewhat like an amusement park it's fun though. You could take in a ballgame at Chase Field, but I think they hit the road next week. Also, you could go up to South Mountain Park which gives you a great view of Phoenix. Somebody took me up there when I came here for the first time and I thought it was cool. Enjoy your time here. *Arrowhead mall- Northwest Phoenix,AZ *Bug Surf Water park-Tempe,AZ *Sun Splashwater park-Mesa,Az *Castle & Coasters-Phoenix,AZ *South Mountain-Laveen -South Phoenix,AZ *Arizona Mills Mall-Tempe,AZ *Sccotsdale Downtown-Sccotsdale,AZ *Apachy Trail & Lake- Apachy mountains *Chandler Fashion Center -Chandler,AZ after all that your week will be over! have fun! grand canyon(it is about a 2 1/2 or 3 hr drive but definitely worth it) |
