Travel Tips There is a lot to see, if you will be in Arizona for a week. I wouldn't stay in one place the whole time. Look through this website, it has tons of suggestions for how to spend a week in Arizona. http://www.arizonaguide.com/whattodo/def... The Grand Canyon is a "don't miss" thing. There is a place called "Slide Rock State Park" near Sedona that you and your brother would probably enjoy. If you go to the National Parks, your mother can rest in the visitor center while the rest of you take a hike. I've heard that you should wear a light cotton shirt over your clothes while out in the sun. Light colored clothing is a must. If you'll be hiking in the desert, be sure to wear hiking boots and long pants, there are snakes. Others 1st don't go to Tucson - that place is horrible 2nd yes is hot - not like wow its warm out, like holly sht my eyeballs burn.....seriously. Wear flip flops and light clothes. Stay indoors and see a movie and then go home Phoenix has a lot of places to go that are nice and cool INDOORS If you are driving, go to the Saguaro Nat. Forest, Tombstone, Old Tucson, maybe pop down to Mexico for a few beers. Don't forget to try out some of the GREAT mexican food in Tucson. Tucson is much cooler than Phoenix - figuratively and literally. Phoenix is a hell-hole! Construction all over downtown - hard to get around. Spent much time in both places. Uncle lives in Tucson. I'm from Arizona, and let me tell you, Tucson sucks. There isn't much there to do. I don't think AZ is a good place to visit at the end of July.....it gets to about 120 degrees and you won't want to do anything outdoorsy. But if you do decide to go to AZ, don't go to Tucson. Stay in Phoenix and surrounding areas. Old Tucson, Saguaro National Park, Mr. Lemmon. Make sure you catch some sunsets. Even though it is dry heat, it is VERY hot in July. Wear cool clothing. bring lots of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, sandals, short shorts, bathing suits, tank tops...go to the grand canyon(its like 20 degrees colder there so bring like bermuda shorts and short sleeves and sometimes u need a sweatshirt) |
