Places to go in Pheonix and Scottsdale? |
Travel Info places to go in Pheonix and Scottsdalehey I would be visiting Pheonix and would like to know which are the good places to watch and do while I am there....any suggestions... Travel Tips I'm 28 and i've lived in az for 15 years now. downtown scottsdale is nice for nightlife-there are some good clubs/bars there. my favs are -martini ranch -anderson's 5th estate -the buzz -sandbar (my 1st choice) sandbar is cool b/c they have a beach-like atmosphere outside w/a bar and seats towards the back with misters so you can kick back and talk. inside there is a dance floor and booths to sit at. the zoo is cool but if you don't have kids or a big group to go with-you might be pretty bored. tubing down the salt river is a cool thing to do this time of year. it costs about 14 bucks a person. http://www.saltrivertubing.com/... scottsdale fashion square is a 3 story mall and is cool to walk through (keeps you out of the sun). downtown tempe is a pretty cool place too. it's a college town (home to ASU) and there are a ton of little shops and bars down there. here are some to consider -the big bang (dueling piano bar-very cool) -the library (bar located above the big bang) -fat tuesdays -mcduffy's as far as phoenix goes-i don't hang out downtown too much b/c i work there and i know how bad of an area it is (i work at the local hospital) but the science center is a cool place to check out and there is a really nice restaraunt called Fez there. if you have time and can do some driving, you might want to head up north of phoenix instead (about 2 hour drive) to these places -slide rock. nature-made rock that you can slide down into oak creek. very popular during summer http://www.pr.state.az.us/parks/parkhtml... tonto natural bridge. nature-made bridge that has huge tunnel you hike through to other side w/a waterfall. my bf and i have done this like 5 times it's fun. http://www.pr.state.az.us/parks/parkhtml... west fork trail at oak creek. totally awesome trail that's easy to hike. it's located right along the creek (you have to cross it like 3 times) and there are some pretty waterfalls too. http://www.dreamsedona.com/hiking-oak-cr... hope this helps and enjoy your stay!! Source(s): az resident 15+ years Other Travel Tips Stripclubs,good nightlife alot of massage paolors and ton of really pretty girls who love to dress real skimpy too. well they have a pretty bad *** zoo, there's a great great Mexican restaurant called Matador's in downtown Phx., also a great great Chinese restaurant called Sing Hi in downtown Phx. Old Town Scottsdale in general is pretty cool. There's a lot of clubs in that area. The malls, of course. Scottsdale Fashion Square is a very nice mall. In Phoenix (downtown again) there's the Arizona Center, it's a pretty little place to walk around in that has some rrestaurants and a nice movie theatre and some shops. It's an outdoors place. In Tempe there's a cool mall called Arizona Mills, it has an IMAX theatre and a place called Gameworks, where it's 2 stories of video games!! lol It's pretty fun if you like that kind of stuff, there's also a little restaurant bar type deal upstairs so you can get smashed if you don't mind overpaying for your drinks, then you can play games. There's a rainforest cafe inside the mall that's also pretty awesome, slightly pricey, not too bad, just a little.....there's so much more but there's a few things to get you started. Have fun!! Check out Frank Lloyd Wrights Tali sen west in Scottsdale,it was built from the surrounding area ,with the organic materials cut from the nearby mountains and the desert. It is now a school for architectual desiign,with Frank Lloyd Wrights ideas.Tours are given. I was there. |
