In Arizona, what are those green metal plates on some palm trees?

No, I am serious. I do not mean the leaves.

those are not even real palm trees. there are some over at tatum and the 101 at desert ridge and they are actually cell phone towers. they disguise tower as artificial palm trees. not kidding.

Believe it or not they are microwave/cell phone towers disguised to blend in to the surrounding area. It is estimated that nearly 30% of the new cell tower erections now going up are being stealthily concealed. Go figure.

That is a cell phone tower that is made to look like a tree,
I heard that somehow some cities are designing fabulously clever ways of hiding cell phone towers.
