Travel Info Is poland a nice place to visit? Travel Tips yea....it's awesome....i go almost every summer for two months (only one this summer) great places to visit and yummy food and ice cream!! hope you get a chance to go xo Others Yes I would say it is worth to see this country. Let me just start from describing a little Warsaw the capital of Poland....It is an extraordinary city with historic buildings, palaces, churches and architectural complexes.The places like "The old town", "The new town", "Royal Lazienki", "Krakowskie przedmiescie street" are very interesting places to see and obviously u have to go to a "Palace of Culture and Science" and see panorama of Warsaw from the 30th floor. About other cities I think it is worth to visit Cracow and also to go to a town called "Wieliczka" which is located about 10 miles from Cracow and see place called "Wieliczka Salt Mine". Besides polish people are nice,friendly,easy going and helpful. Also the food is soooo delicious...the dishes like "pierogi", "golabki", "nalesniki", or "bigos" are soooo yummy.... Have a great time in Poland if u ever go :-) Just to add, the Teutonic old towns of Gdansk and Torun are very nice. Also if you want nice forest and lakes, go to Warmia and Mazur. The city of Olsztyn has a nice castle and nice history of scientist Copernicus. Eat well! I love golabki (stuffed cabbage rolls), all soups (barszcz, grzybowa, ogorkowa!) and of course pierogi and kielbasa. also to add..... if you got to poland in winter make sure most of your time is spent in Zakopane the winter capital of Poland, the ski slopes are to die for!! And add to that: Polish people generally are fantastically hospitable and earthy people! Yes, it is a nice place to visit. Polish schabowy is very good (this is a meat). |
