PayPal Polska - thieves? |
Travel Info We've been using PayPal for about two years now (with eBay) and have never, ever had any problems. About a month ago, my husband decided to open a PayPal account for his mother in Poland so he can swiftly send money to her when needed without having to pay hefty fees. As a trial, we sent $20 and it went through with no problems within a matter of days. About 3 weeks ago we sent $60, and she still hasn't received it! Now, we contacted PayPal Poland about it but have to wait 30 days before filing a complaint/lost transaction query. The only thing that makes me skeptical though, is that ex-commie countries such as Poland are known for their thievery. So many times we've sent packages that got lost in the mail. Could the same thing have happened with the money we sent? Could it have been nicked by a third party? Any suggestions? Travel Tips I don't know when you lived in Poland and when you experienced all the bad things, but I have to deeply disagree with you. Don't blame everyone for the actions of a few! It is plain rubbish to claim that "ex-commie countries such as Poland are known for their thievery" - give me some proof for your theories. My friends had more unpleasant accidents (like being mugged) in the UK, not to mention plenty of dangerous drunks leaving pubs in the UK, just ready to knock some teeth out! And for your information - I've sent plenty of packages to and from Poland and not single one of them got lost. If you make these accusations, make sure that you have evidence to support them. Others While it may be true that in Poland certain items get lost in the mail, this depends not on the country but on individual employees. I have read reports on mail items lost in Britain, France, even Germany. On my own part, I often receive music CDs from Amazon, by non-registered mail, and not one has been lost. And in any case - PayPal is NOT a Polish company, so it is the American system that is to blame, not Polish national character. Polish people aren't as bad as you have written (maybe politicians yes;/;/) i think there is a lot of nationality as polish one and we can't say they are totally bad because it is untrue You are just a vile , racist , hateful pig aren't you? irrespective of your generalizations (which you have already been bashed out for by others), no one has answered what could be wrong. There is this simple test you should do - a) Go to your PP.com account and see the transaction activity in "My Accounts -> History" b) Go to your mom-in-laws PP.com account (or have her do it) and see the transaction activity. It is likely, even though less, that the transactions are still pending. If it shows "Transfer completed" or something in your account and not on her then thats a valid complaining event. You could talk to PayPal US customer service and see what they have to say. If its a problem with your request for any unforeseen reason, chances are there are other people with similar issues and they will look into it. i know where you're coming from, but maybe you should give the situation some time before you start blaming people for what happened to your money. i know from experience that paypal some times takes a while to complete transactions. to save yourself a headache, just use western union or money express or some other money transfer system that specializes in sending money to poland. of course you have to pay a small fee, but at least you'll know exactly when the money will arrive. blame paypal. not poland. *sidenote: i find it funny about the disappearing packages...but i never receive half the packages sent to me from WITHIN the us...blame a poorly organized local postal office or a bad mail carrier...america was never communist and there is no sense of having to steal your way to survive here, yet we have the same mail problems. |
