It naturally has economical problems (some of them still can be traced to system transformation) but they are those of a country economically developed I couldn't help but notice that your question was misunderstood by many of those who answered. But myself I can't think of any other way to put it - using the phrase "third world" not only can be taken as an insult but would be also incorrect in essence as the term was developed to mark countries not being part of the cold war. Others More or less than what? It's far less developed than the UK because it is still living under the shadow of communism. I'm from Poland and its a lot worse off than the Uk, thats true. There is a lot of poverty in villages but likewise in towns too... This is mainly due to the government. On entering the EU prices have risen to match other richer countries like Germany... But sadly jobs haven't risen their salaries... For example a doctor working on nightshift will receive 100 zl for that night 拢1 is equal to 6zl so thats about 拢16... Pensions can be as low as 600zl per month. Thats why many nurses move to Germany and England, and even Ireland... And of course the well known polish builders and plumbers. But it is still relatively cheap for brits to go on skiing holidays you can easily book a spa (sanatorium) for 600 zl a week = 拢100 not in season though... Visiting Poland at least twice a year. Also Family in Poland... Am sure that the people of Poland are economically better off than the people of Kenya. But regarded in the context within Europe, Poland can be seen as a less economically developed country. That's why the Polish people are found everywhere in Europe now, they need money too and prices went up in their country. |
