Definitely the Market Square with the St. Mary's Church and an exquisite altar carved of wood centuries ago. Sukiennice - a market for handicraft. Then Wawel Castle with a collection of tapestries on biblical themes. The Jewish Quarter - Kazimierz. The Czartoryski Museum with "A Lady with an Ermine" the only Leonardo painting in Poland. And as for food and entertainment, there are plenty of good (though expensive) places to eat and enjoy.

Krakow is a wonderful city full of things to see , I found it very safe and clean for the most part, a visit to Auschwitz is a must although prepare yourself for this as its a harrowing day but well worth going. I been to K' twice now and will go back for more.

Wawel the place where the dragon used to live.
The rynek which means the Krakow square and there are lots of shopping stores.
Wielichka (spelling?) salt mine, auschwitz, kazmierez for the best pubs and nightlife!
