Do you have recommendations on a location for a family reunion in Oregon (northern coast or Portland)? |
Travel Info We are trying to find a big place that could accommodate 50 people for a weekend family reunion in July of 2007. We aren't wealthy. We prefer a big lodge or a hotel or guesthouse on the northern coast or a hotel, lodge, or guesthouse in the Portland area. Travel Tips Specific Places? The Red Lion hotel in Vancouver. It's right on the river and you have several restaurants very close. Rates vary, but you should be able to get in, especially with a group rate, under $150 a room. Also consider the Inn at Spanish Head. I don't know much about it, but I know that it's big and right on the coast in Lincoln City. The biggest obstacle is the drive from PDX (if people are flying in) out to the reunion. It's probably 60-90 minutes away, much of it on a two lane road. Other Travel Tips Rent a house on the coast...other side of lincon city...U'll have access to everything but still U can be close to the ocean to have U'r party and privacy! Have fun! Silver Falls Do it on the coast! Its gorgeous out there, and it shouldnt be terribly hard to find somewhere to have it! Good luck! I would recommend renting a couple of houses in Lincoln City, Newport Beach, or Pacific Beach. You could also have your reunion at a campground near there. July would be a great time to camp in Oregon, and would be inexpensive and a lot of fun. If people aren't big in camping, you could rent a few yurts also. Have fun! lincoln city,,has outlets casino and lots of beach and not crowded,,,also there is seaside a little more of just a beach town but they have surreys and bike you can rent and drive around town |
