The NWC had arrived in the Oregon Country as far back as 1807, so the Hudson's Bay Company inherited its forts there in 1821. " I haven't looked at a map, but if this location is any place close to Oregon City, I suspect this is the location of one of the forts. Another would have been Fort Astoria.
