What are the names of the 3 Sisters - Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. ?? |
Travel Info What are the names of the 3 Sisters - Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. ?? Travel Tips The Three Sisters is a separate mountain than any of the options listed. The Sisters are named for the three distinct peaks (South, Middle and North)clustered very closely together. They are located in the Three Sisters Wilderness area, almost due west of Bend, Oregon, and just north of Mount Bachelor. The nearby town of Sisters, Oregon is named for the peaks. The Sisters are volcanic in origin (as are most of the Cascades), and are currently being studied because of a 'bulge' that is growing on the peak's west side. I've climbed South Sister (the highest), and I understand it is common for some to climb all three peaks in a single day. These people are in much better shape than I. I hope this helps. Others Mount Rainier. Rainier? i doubt thats spelled right Rainer? Mt. Rainier Three Sisters, Oregon Locations and Elevations: North Sister: 44.2N, 121.77W; 10,090 feet (3,075 m) Middle Sister: 44.1N, 121.77W; 10,050 feet (3,063 m) South Sister: 44.1N, 121.75W; 10,360 feet (3,158 m) Check out the website for more info. http://volcano.und.edu/vwdocs/volc_image... |
