A bullmastiff is a bullmastiff .... it is a specific breed, with it's own AKc accepted specs.

There are different kinds of Mastiff, and maybe that is what you are referring to.

Please do some detailed research on mastiff's or bullmastiff's before deciding to get one. You can google both words and get a lot of sites. Read through as much as you can.

A mastiff is a large powerful dog that needs a firm but loving hand, and is not for inexperienced dog owners.

A Bullmastiff averages around 95 lbs, is VERY strong and powerful, and is also very stubborn and will balk at authority if not raised and maintained by someone who knows the breed and how to handle them. That said, they are a wonderful breed, loyal to the death, loving, and more than a bit goofy!

Again, please do a LOT of research and learning before adopting this breed, or any breed of mastiff.
