Wheres the best place to live in oregon? |
Travel Info relocating to oregon in september, looking for a nice small town to live in. thinking about hood river area or somewhere close to columbia river gorge. i am from the south so im looking for a small quiet place with lots of outdoor activities. looking for a good rent to own deal on a home w/land. Travel Tips Oregon, and the Pacific Northwest in general, is an area of land that is incredibly diverse in its offerings. There is a bit of everything; city life, ocean. desert, farming, forest, mountains. The answer to your question lies with you. What are you interests and hobbies? You mentioned the Gorge area, Hood River in particular, and this is a great smaller town. It is located right on the Columbia River and is famous for wind-based water sports. Hood River is also close to Mt. Hood. You might also like The Dalles, OR, which is just east of Hood River. You mentioned that you are from the south, so the weather may be an issue to you. The gorge area is famous for it's wind and does get plenty of rain. If you want dry conditions, check out the high desert of central Oregon. If you want everything around you to be green, try the west side of the state, maybe Salem or Eugene. The bottom line is that Oregon is a wonderful place with even better people. Have fun!
