Whats the coast of living like, jobs&rent in Portland OR? |
Travel Info Im thinking about moving Portland but i hear the coast of living is high and you dont get payed that much?Ive never moved out of state before its just me moving does any one have some advise? Travel Tips Well first off minimum wage is 7.80 an hour, most of the jobs start at 8 an hr. Average cost of housing for a one bedroom is averaged about 650 a month but if u want anything new then your gonna be up around 800. If u dont really care about the outside look u can get one for about 500. Gas is up around 2.50 a gallon, bus fare is 1.70 for about a 3 hr ticket. Anything else u can email me and I'll do my best to find out. But really the best areas have been named like, hawthorne, pearl and all that. Source(s): Live there. Other Travel Tips Housing is getting more expensive and the job market is not all that great. It's very hard to find reasonable one-bedroom apartments. Go to this website to calculate the cost of living... http://swz.salary.com/costoflivingwizard... I live in St. James, but i work with a Real Estate Company and we have agents who work in Portland. I must tell you that once it is near the coast in Jamaica then its going to a bit more costly than the usual. Are you planning on renting a house, a condo, a small villa, an apartment or are you going to buy a house? Let me refer you to our website: http://www.declanjm.com/ i hope you find some where convenient and cost-effective for you. Do it! Portland is one of the best places to live on Earth! Get an apartment close to one of the named neighborhoods (NW, Hawthrone, Belmont, Broadway, Alberta Street, Pearl, etc...), learn to be broke, and have a great time! Don't move to the suburbs! |
