What's life like in Lebanon, Oregon for seniors ? |

Reasonable housing costs ? etc, etc Travel Tips Lebanon is like most other towns in Oregon on the west side of the Cascade mountains in that there are a lot of recent retirees that are discovering the mild winters and warm, not to hot, summers. All of these smaller towns have senior centers and activities, but those towns with a larger tax base tend to have the better programs. Along these lines, Lebanon is a good choice. Lebanon has an active community that is attracting both older adults and young families and therefore have a variety of activities for all ages. The proximity to Salem and Eugene makes it ideal to get to both cities for things not found in the smaller towns. They are one of the few towns with free city-wide WiFi. The healthcare in the area is rated well, and there are excellent hospitals in both Eugene and Salem. The old story that "Oregonians hate Californians" is fading into the past. Most Californians that move to Oregon and embrase their communities for the good things they have to offer find they make friends easily and no one cares where you moved from. It's just and interesting question to ask - not a factor in deciding if you will be accepted or not. And as to housing costs, the best way to find out is to compare them your self.
