What is the crime rate of Eugene, Oregon?

Travel Info
My wife and I are trying to come to a decision of where we want to live in Oregon. Crime rates and population tells alot.

Travel Tips
3.4 violent crimes per 1,000 people (in 2003).

Here's some more information that might be relevant to your decision:

Move to Southern Oregon instead (Medford/Grants Pass area).

Eugene stinks, IMHO because it's too overrun by liberals. I guarantee that you'll find a satisfactory lower crime rate in the southern part of the state.
BAD, move lnland...
its not that bad....eugene is nothing compared to another city of its size. If there are any crime problems it is just minor petty stuff and mainly near the university. move to west eugene or north eugene...just make sure you become a DUCK fan when you get here, otherwise you may fall victim to a hate crime.
Any part of Oregan should be good.ver away from PHX it is bad, crime is ramped
