What are the Can't miss attractions on the Oregon/Washington Coasts?

Travel Info
My girlfriend and I are going to Seaside, and other places on the Washington and Oregon coasts for 2 days. What should I see and do while I'm there?

Travel Tips
Since you are only going to be there for 2 days, I would concentrate on the area between Seaside, OR and Long Beach, WA. If you were taking 4-6 days I would recommend going further south.

Seaside has a wonderful array of shops alongside the beach. Astoria, a bit north, is a quaint historical town built on a hill overlooking the Columbia River. Fort Clatsop, in between the two is where Lewis and Clark wintered on their expedition.

Take the bridge over the Columbia into Washington, and go visit the two lighthouses, and then go on up Long Beach Peninsula.

For a two day trip, this will give you loads of things to do and see! Follow the links I have included below to see all the choices for places to visit and things to see.

Others
Drive down to Newport and go to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Kick around old town Newport. Take her for the Mousse at the Wales Tale restaurant (split it). Grab a beer at the Rogue Brewery in Newport. If you order a Coors or Bud they will ring a bell and laugh at you.

If there is a good breeze buy a cheap kite from the Toy outlet store in Lincoln City.

Hit the stores and restaurants in Cannon Beach

Visit the Cheese factory in Tillamook

Drive over the Bridge to Washington in Astoria (huge) and you might find some places you like in Astoria.

Seaside has a pretty good nightlife. No offense to Seaside but I have found it to be kind of sleazy in the past although it seemed better when I visited last summer. It is sort of the bigger, uglier step sister to Cannon Beach.

If you or your gf are artsy you can make your own glass float in Lincoln City.

Make sure you take a walk on the beach!
Newport is awesome. The beaches are clean (not too many rocks or twigs) and the atmosphere is fantastic!

Places to visit in/around Newport:
Oregon Coast Aquarium
Rippleys Believe it or Not
Wax Museum
UnderSea Gardens
Tide Pools
Oregon Light Houses
Devil's Punch Bowl

At Seaside be sure to feed the Seals (a building right across from the bay walk) and to use one of there multiple person car type bikes (sorry don't know what they are called).
