I'm considering moving to Portland; anyone have bad opinions about Portland?

Travel Tips
I don't. I think Portland is a cool city. It's doesn't have that big city feel though, if that is what you are looking for.

It's Picturesque, and is a thriving, growing city. Has the same problems most other cities do, and it's desirable and undesirable areas to live in and to work in. Overall I would say it's a very livable city.

(personally tho I prefer Eugene, lol)

no Portland is where my dad was born sounds pretty nice there good school to
Yes I was born and raised in Portland and lived there for 30 plus years until a year ago I finally left. It rains 9 months a year and the job market stinks and the price of living is out of control.
It all depends on from where you are coming.

If you like a warm and dry climate, Portland isn't your town.
If you like watching pro sports, Portland isn't your town.

However, if you like beer, Portland is a mecca.
If you like outdoor hobbies, Portland is a hub.

Ask a follow-up question and we'll answer it.
Native Oregonian...don't believe me? Just check out the webbing between my toes.
The job market here is weak, it's cloudy 9 months of the year with drizzle, it's a somewhat smaller city, and after I moved here I got allergies due to the pollen and mold spores in the air.
I love Portland. There are so many friendly people here. You can ride your bike everywhere and there are so many amazing restaraunts and cafes. Not to mention most of the entire city is wireless. We have great public transportation and yes...it does rain a lot but it makes the trees and the grass green but the air is some of the freshest city air you will ever find. Our summers are perfect and we take full advantage when it comes around. The prices are cheaper than All other major cities on the West coast so if you want to live in a west coast city, then move here. Good luck and have fun!
