Travel Info DESCRIBE TO ME WHY IT IS THE WORST 10 points...thanks Travel Tips cause it's nasty down there, I was down in that area the other day. scary place police don't even like going in Others I can't, because that isn't true. ditto the person upstairs :) There are worse places to live . . . Every neighborhood has their bad apples, even the pearl district. I don't think its the worst, there are some really nice places in North PDX, like Alberta street and such. Sure, it's a lower income area, but that doesn't mean there aren't things to enjoy or nice neighborhoods there. 15 yr resident I'll take most of NoPo over many of the tweakertowns in Clackamas County or Gresham! However, Portland is/was about the most segregated city on the west coast, and there is a significant black population in North Portland. So if "worst" is code for that, then there you go. There are nice places in North Portland, also some of the not so nice neighborhoods. There is more poverty there than in the rest of the city, but also more style and grace than the commeter suburbs. |
