Is Portland Oregon a Friendly city? |
Travel Info This isnt a question, because I know how friendly Portland is. I just got here yesterday, and I have met some of the friendliest people ever. Its like meeting small town folks in a big city. People are go generous and caring here, and dont have the big city attitudes. I am so suprised what nice people live here. Seattle is the exact opposite, no one looks at each other when walking down the street, and people here say "hi". You people have built an amazing city. You are so warm and welcoming. Travel Tips unless your black then all you would get is mean stares. Source(s): Born and riased in P-town Other Travel Tips I guess thats why Portland is over run with homeless people As a resident of Portland, thank you. Your experience with Portland is typical..it's a friendly welcoming city. I've been here 14 years. One if my first surprises about what a friendly city this is was when I discovered that people say "Thank you" to the driver when they get off the bus. People in Portland are really friendly. Everyone talks to each other and people look out for one another. It has a great small town feel. A great place! It warms my heart to 'see' you say that!, having been born and raised about 10 miles south of Portland,I would say that ,Yes!, indeed!, a friendly town it is!, both my parents were born in Portland (77 years ago!), the whole fan damily hail from the area, just recently The New York Times did a review of what a friendly place it is. We can all only hope that the town only gets even better! sincerely... Oregonians are just better people. with more progessive attitudes unlike the rest of the country. |
