What is the job market like in Portland? Thinking about moving from Dallas.? |

I don't know what Dallas is like for comparison purposes but I have been told that our job market is slimmer pickins than some cities. If you are well spoken and have a nice Dallas drawl, I'm sure employers will love ya. Especially if you have experience in the fields of sportswear, i.e. Nike and Adidas, computers, i.e. Intel, or industrial shipping, i.e. Freightliner and Port of Portland then you will have more open doors for jobs. Portland, as with most of Oregon, has a terrible market. It is nearly impossible to get a job here unless you have major connections. I grew up in Oregon and I am still having a hard time finding a job even with all the connections I have. Oregon is a fantastic place to live and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. That is why I am still here trying to get a job. I hope you have better luck than I do. |
