Travel Tips
guess we'd need alittle more info about you..what are you into, do you like suburban living as opposed to right in the city. do you drive or not. portland and portland proper one of the easiest places to get around with out a car. i lived in upper mt. tabor area, hawthorn, kerns and brooklyn neihborhoods. i think it depends on what your looking for. i live in beaverton now, it's not bad, it's literaly 15 min to down town, there's alot of work over here. i perfer living in town though. if you want to live down town i know there's some studios in the pearl that are on a sliding scale, there's some fixed income places around psu and right down town. that area is great if you don't have a car, there's a trolly and the max and a grocery store you can walk to. you might want to try a short term house share situation so you can get a better feel of whats around once your here. there's short term house stay situations on craiglist.

The closer to downtown you live the more expensive. We do have an awesome transportation system so you really could live anywhere and save money on gas!! :)
good luck!!

winters here are mild since it only snows maybe once or twice, but not bad. It rains, but it's more drizzle to me then a down pour. I love it because it's so beautiful it's like living in a rainforest, but not the tropical kind.
check out travelportland.com for some views, and I think apartments.com would have some listings. Also, if you have a car(or even if you don't) East County (east of the city) isn't bad, my girl and I live in Fairview about 15 minutes from downtown. Troutdale, Gresham there are tons of apartments and everybody's renting. If I were you, I wouldn't wait another year to get out here, the place is f-ing paradise...peace and love-420!
I live here, dude!!!
