How is commute time from Portland, OR to Oregon City like? |
Travel Info what neighborhood in Portland or suburbs of Portland would have easy access to major roads to Oregon City? Travel Tips Just take 99E and avoid 1-5/205.The best neighboorhood access is SE, close-in. Milwaukee (suburb) is close. Others I can't tell from your question whether or not you're familiar with the Portland area. Oregon City is itself a suburb of Portland, on the far south side. A map may make it look like it's well separated from Portland, but in fact it's solid city. So many people have moved to the area that traffic is a nightmare, and not just at morning and evening commute times. If you lived on the far northwest corner of Portland, say in the St. Johns area, it could take you an hour to get to Oregon City during rush hour. Hard one to answer! In general...45 min. to 1 1/2 hours. I have traveled it enough to know it can very a bunch. Where in Or.City to downtown is a general thing that is hard to answer. Sorry, best I can come up with..... long commute. Not distance just time consuming. stuck on the road a time or two to Oregon City. i'm confused by some people's answers here because i lived in portland most of my life and it never took me more than 30 minutes to get anywhere!! i can't possibly imagine it taking 45 to 1.5 hour to get 5 miles. oregon city and portland are right next to each other! west linn and oregon city are across the river from each other, and it takes 20 minutes straight down hwy 43 (macadam) from WL to get to downtown portland. so....crossing any number of bridges along the way...an extra 2 minutes. i don't see why people are saying it takes so long. the beauty of portland is that everything is so close! |
