Why do Oregon residents dislike Californians? |
Travel Info I have noticed lately that Oregon people don't like California people moving to Oregon, Why is that? I have lived in Ca my entire life and now we are moving to Oregon to raise our family due to the cost of living, schools and it's so beautiful there. So why is it so wrong to move somewhere thats better for families? Travel Tips We moved from the Bay Area of CA to Oregon because my dad's job relocated. I have to disagree with the person who just typecasted Californians as shallow and materialistic. Maybe that's the image the media gives of CA, but it's an unfair one. CA is a state of diverse backgrounds, which creates a great sense of culture, whereas Portland is a little more homogenous (though a great place in its own right). As far as eco-friendliness, San Jose is only second to Portland nationally in ranks of "most eco-friendly city". California isn't only beaches and celebrities. It's diverse in climate as well as people, as you can drive to a sunny beach and an hour away is a redwood forest, and then half an hour from there is a bustling city, and then an hour away is a desert. Don't group all Californians into a stereotype. It makes you worse than the so-called speeders. Portland is an amazing place to be, but CA will always have a special place in my heart. For me, there is a certain vivacity in the air, a certain breath of life and excitement. Source(s): living there from birth until 2004. Other Travel Tips I think you just answered your own question. They dont they just dont have the courage to admit it like liberty said to jt CAUSE CALIFORNIANS ARE HOT! I dont know ... maybe they think Californians are snooty movie star wanna-bes or something.lol. they're scared that their state is being taken over... too bad for them... people do what they gotta do and they should just deal with it :) Because Californians are very opinionated, and they cause the cost of living to go up by buying up all the homes creating a shortage and then greed gets in there and the homeowners raise the prices too high so that the local are pushed out of their own hometowns. They drive too fast... Should I go on? |
