Best mall in Portland, OR area? |
Travel Info We have people coming over and because of the lack of a sales tax, they want to do some major shopping. They want to go to a mall because the kids want to. So, which are the best malls in the area? We've only lived in Oregon for a year and have only gone to Washington Square. Travel Tips Pioneer Square in downtown Portland Saturday Market under the Burnside Bridge NW 23rd Lloyd Center Others I would recommend either Jantzen Beach (right at the Columbia River off I-5) or go a bit south to Woodburn and the factory outlet mall on the I-5 there (35 miles south of Portland) I've listed the websites for these two places below. For factory outlets, like Adidas, check out this listing: http://portland.citysearch.com/search?gc... For just the best mall scene and great stores, as others have said, it's Pioneer Square downtown or Washington Square in Beaverton. http://www.el.com/to/woodburn/ http://www.jantzenbeachsupercenter.com/... In terms of convenience and overall mix of stores, it's hard to beat Lloyd Center in NE Portland. Not only does it have ample parking, but MAX light rail and several bus lines converge on it as well. Major anchors there are Macy's, Sears and Nordstrom. Pioneer Square downtown or Washington Square in Beaverton. If you like Nordstrom, nothing beats the Washington Square one. For easy access, I think Clackamas Town Center is a good bet. They have it all. Sears, May Co., Penneys, Barnes and Noble, Nordstroms, and many others. For a very good dinner, The Claim Jumper is quite good,(a little spendy) for a bite to eat among others. Accross the street at the promenade, there are more stores and places to eat. The center is all covered and kept cool and or warm in the winter. There is a small play area for small kids near the Sears store. Give yourself plenty of time to shop, as it is very big! Good luck!
