Does anyone out there know anything about the OHSU Medical Center or Providence Hospitals in Portland, OR? |
Travel Info I and my wife are newly qualified RN's looking to relocate to the beautiful Pacific Northwest...Thanks!! Travel Tips This facility is excellent. One of the few in the stat the handles life flight extreme intensive trauma patience. I am not in the medical field but my husband was an EMT. Also, my son and my father both have had care from there. Very much a teaching hospital but also has some of the best Dr's. in the nation. Portland is beautiful but largest city in Oregon and busy. Wonderful opportunity. Do it. Others OHSU is one of the best centers in the Northwest. They are both excellent. Providence has a number of hospitals and clinics so you could work in a number of different areas whereas OHSU has one hospital, but a couple of satellite clinics. Well The Providence Hospital System has three hospitals, Providence Portland, Providence St Vincent(past downtown almost towards Beaverton), and Providence Milwaukie, they also have several doctors offices scattered about the city. OHSU is located just south of downtown on top of what is called Pill Hill because, not only is OHSU up there, Shriners and the VA hospital's up there too. They're all pretty much good hospitals. Another option is the Legacy System with Good Samaritan in Northwest Portland, Emmanual in North Portland, and another one I can't remember the name of in Gresham. There are also a couple small independent hospitals Woodland Park, Eastmorland, also Adventist down on SE 102nd. |
