Travel Info How would you compare Seattle versus Portland? Travel Tips Portland was rated the number 1 alternative lifestyle city. I would say that Portland has a funkier feel to it, whereas Seattle is more provincial. Seattle also has parts to it that are very elitist. They are both green and wet in winter months. I suggest you go visit both and decide which one suits your personality the most. Others I agree with him...it's all relative. If your from Seattle, you will say Seattle. If from Portland, you would say Portland. We have found a friendly feud between the two cities. Both have a lot to offer. Portland has a better traffic situation,I believe, and a bit more down to reality. It is a toss-up. Portlander I find Portland to be a little more down to earth than Seattle which is a little more upscale. It's more expensive to live in Washington than in Oregon and I think that contributes to biggest difference between the two cities, besides Seattle just being more populated than Portland. |
