Anyone ever been there? What did you think? I've been twice and I think it's perfect!

Hi there, I've also been twice and I loved it too! We have taste!!

The first time I went it was on a travel agents educational and we all stayed at Reids! It was amazing- thank goodness we weren't paying because it is very expensive- beautiful and if you have the money then well worth it.

The second time I was there with my husband and two youngest kids- 3 years ago and stayed in the Pestana Carlton and it was also just fabulous.

I think that in general the quality of accomodation on the island was great, but the people, the food and the scenery was what made it special.
Its such a beautiful place, and deserves its name as the garden island. We did tobboganing in Funchal- that was something else! Wow!
We hired a car the second time and went all over the island, it was breathtaking.

We will definitley have to go back again, but I think next time without the kids!
