How to go to the Christ King (Cristo Rei) monument in Almada, Lisbon? |
Travel Info I would like to go visit the Christ King (Cristo Rei) monument in Almada, Lisbon, as I will be in Lisbon soon and I heard it worths a visit since it is the original after which the one in Brazil (Cristo Redentor) was built. However I noticed that it is in the south branch of the river Tagus. Therefore I would like to ask how to get there. I mean, I could already find out there are busses and trains and boats to cross the river (either to Cacilas, Almada, Pragal). However how does one go to the Chist King itself from any of those places, without a car, so by public transport? Does it have some balcony where we can see the view? Can we go inside like the Liberty Statue? Thanks a lot! Travel Tips Hi! I had the same problem! here's what you you do, take the metro or bus to Cais do Sodr茅, the go and take a ferry to the other side (there is only one stop on each side of the river so don't worry, but you want cacilhas) then in cacilhas take the bus 21 i think that says "Cristo Rei" and it stops right next to it! http://experienceportugal.blogspot.com/... have fun, and yes great view! Source(s): http://experienceportugal.blogspot.com/... Other Travel Tips Yes, there is a balcony to see the view. If can take a train Cais do Sodre - Almada and there take a taxi to Christ king. I know that the hotels have tours wich include Christ king, and maybe your company have tours too. Any information contact me by mail. |
