Travel Info Im going to Vilamoura, Portugal for the first time. What are the best beaches with the least gusty winds ? Travel Tips Vilamoura is the name given to an area rather than to any actual town. It is outstanding in that it is one of the largest single tourist complex in Europe and covers some 2.000 hectares of land. The land is variable in its vegetation, some parts covered in pine forests whilst others open recovered marshland. Vilamoura is a special place, a unique leisure and recreation resort community where the pace of life is so easy it feels like summer all year round. Beaches Fal茅sia is ideal for a day on the beach with its unusual red coloured cliffs as a backdrop. You can get down to the beach at a number of points. There is a big hill to walk down to get to the beach but the beach at the bottom is great, very hot sand so take your flip flops. There are quite a few bars on the way back up the hill though so you can stop for a drink lol. We went on an excursion to a secluded beach for a picnic you could only get to the beach by boat, very nice little beach, if you get the chance take the trip, also horse riding in the mountains was very nice, they take the horses through a river with you on their back !!! Have a nice time. |
