I am currently living in Japan as a foreign student. I am going to apply student visa for Portugal for 1-2 years. The visa application requires 'certificate of criminal record issued by the police station'. I am facing difficulty to collect this doc. Is it possible to collect it in Japan (I am facing some langauge barrier)? If I apply to portugese embassy here in Japan - is it OK if I collect it from my home country? I am in real trouble with doc-- any advise will be highly appreciated

Try to find someone that speaks decent English and see if you can ask them to walk with you to a polic box. From there, they should be able to help you with your document. What city do you live in?
