BUT you will have to be very restricted with your spending. Right now the Euro is valued higher than the dollar so take into consideration that your money will be less. Portugal is a fantastic country. Especially right now all the "festas" are occuring. You will have to properly budget and spend your money wisely. It can be done though. Meals are cheaper and waters will cost you less. Get to know the locals and ask them what you should see. Enjoy the smaller villages...they are always packed with culture and love. I actually found cheaper airfare tickets flying into Porto (Northern region). Your best best is to try Orbiz.com and enter in where you traveling from and too. Porto airport code is OPO. Try both Porto and Lisbon. By flying "stand by" you will also have a chance to get cheaper tickets. It all depends on which airport your traveling from. If that was the question, I would say that during the off season, it would be possible but during the high season, it might costs a little more. If you are referring to spending money there, $500 would t ake you a long way. Lisbon is cheaper than most cities.. Of the countries in Europe.. I love Portugal best. I spent a lot of time there. That depends on where you're flying from. NY it is possible to find last minute tickets for Lisbon that are less than 500. |
