If I study Brazilian Portuguese will I have trouble communicating in Portugal? |
Travel Info are the languagues very differerent? Travel Tips I met a couple of friends, one from Brazil and the other one from Portugal in a course in Britain; althoug we usually spoke in English, sometimes both of them spoke in Portuguese/Brazilian. I asked them if they could understand each other without problems and they answered there were some differences, but not important ones: like in Spanish spoken in Spain and Spanish spoken in Mexico, for example, or American/British English.Hi Yes, there are some differnces and you may have some trouble communicating in Portugal. I am Portugese and live in a portugese/brazillan coumminty not really there are some differences but is easy to resolve... good luck and have a nice time in my country Would you have trouble....depends on where you are. In Lisbon, likely no but in some other areas it is possible. I think you should be fine though. The accent isn't the only difference. There are words in Brazilian Portuguese that do not exist in European Portuguese. I live in a Portuguese neighborhood and have accents from the Azores, Portugal, and Brazil spoken all around me. So I am familiar with the different accents. Good Luck!!! Portugal is a great country to visit!!! Portuguese it's Portuguese... doesn't matter from were... Europe, America, Africa or Asia... do you know portuguese language is spoken in our five continents?... |
