Is the Algarve busy at Xmas & where's best to go?

Travel Info
If it's gonna be quiet then what other locations would be good for a lads peace-up?

Travel Tips
parts of the algarve are busy at xmas but a lot of the tourist attractions are shut.

albufeira is a good place to go for a lads 'excursion' - we used to call it blackpool with sun!!

it's got the charm of portugal in the old town and in the more modern parts has nice pubs where you can get your sunday roast.

club praia da oura is a nice apartment complex, it's within walking distance of the whole town (well it is unless your a really lazy s*d like my bf!) Source(s): www.albufeira.com
and
i used to live there!!

A "peace-up"? What are we talking about here - a christian convention or a hippy gathering?!

If you mean p!ss-up, then even Albufeira may be a bit quiet in the winter, and there's no need to export (even more) lager-lout behaviour to a nice place like that. It won't make much difference where you are if you're constantly drunk, so it'll be much cheaper and easier to go to Blackpool, where you'll find everything you need!
Not been there at Christmas time but was there recently and stayed the the Sheraton Algarve. I did a review of it at http://www.bombasticlife.com Wasn't crazy about it, too many kids but if you have kids then you'll probably like it.
