Question over Portuguese accent?

I which words is the last letter not pronounced.

for example cidade(city) is pronounced by the Portuguese as cidaD

or ele(he) as eL

I am portugese and that sounds right. I don't know why it's like that.

That`s not right. I am portuguese and in both cidade and ele you do pronounce the last letter. But, in these two cases the last two words form the name of the letter
de - the way we say D
le - the way we say L
So, that`s why you think we don`t pronounce it.
I don`t think there is any word in portuguese that fit your question...
