Travel Info Going with 2 kids to portugal in June.they burn in scotland, any good spray on sunblocks 2 protect them? Travel Tips hawian tropics do a good factor 70,and boots range are good for kids.I went to jamaica last year my two kids still burned even with sun blck on,its best to stay out of sun between 12 and 3 and i also bought those swim suits that cover whole torso and arms and legs as its so easy for kids to burn.A good after sun that has aloe vera in it after sun is good too.The coloured sun blocks for faces are good too as you know when to re apply when the colour has faded. And most of all sun hats.I wouldnt advise sprays as i dont think they last as long Others they burn in scotland???? do they walk round wearing tin foil by any chance? why spoil a good holiday? put the little darlings into kennels so you can go enjoy yourself, Wow, they burn in scotland!?! How white are these kids, maybe they should get a little burn-over so that they can have some sort of shield from the sun. Just slather them with mounds of sunscreen and when each layer dries slather them again. Don't take any chances - keep their t-shirts on. We get Avon factor 40 spray for the kids. Also worth knowing if they are very pale, the G.P can prescribe sun block and you can get it free from the prescription. This is especially easy to wangle if one has sensitive skin or excema. Can't recommend any but what I would say is that you make them keep covered up between 11am and 4pm. They need hats, long-sleeve t-shirts and longish shorts. They will HATE this but it's the only way - I grew up in New Zealand so I know how to protect myself! Even though this is the best solution, in reality it's probably not going to work. You therefore will need to find a sunblock that has SPF 45, and even then, you need to limit sun exposure. I would say no more than one hour during peak times, and this hour shouldn't be all in one go. But congratulations, I have NEVER heard of anyone burning in Scotland before. |
