Travel Info We are wanted to visit the Azore Islands during the June celebration. Does anyone know the dates in June? Travel Tips The 鈥淪anjoaninas鈥?Festival which takes place between the 23rd and 29th of June honouring St.Anthony, St.Peter and St.John, is a large religious celebration which manifests all traditional folklore on the island of Terceira.The traditional bullfights in the plaza occur continuously and the bullfights in the streets, peculiar to this island, are worth seeing. The only bullfighting ring in the region is found in Terceira, where the world renown Festival or Taurine Fair takes place during the festival week. At the same time in 鈥淰ila Franca鈥? S茫o Miguel the 鈥淪茫o Jo茫o da Vila鈥?Festival takes place with a parade of well organised and colourful marches, dances and many other festivities throughout the week. In Faial, on the 24th of June many people congregate on 鈥淟argo Jaime Melo鈥?and celebrate the 鈥淔esta de S茫o Jo茫o鈥?(St.John Festival). Others just something to add to the previous answer... at ponta delgada, we have live music,bbq,etc,during the whole summer. we also have the Holy Spirit feast at S.Miguel, at all villages, until september.
