Which languages are popular second languages in Portugal? |
Travel Info Do most or many Portugese speak a second language (in addition to Portugese)? If so which languages? Travel Tips Duh, we do not have a second language nor every portuguese people know spanish. we understand what they say,even though normally they do not understand us. But u find alot of people (youngsters) speaking english and french, we learn at school. Source(s): IM PORTUGUESE CARALHO!! Other Travel Tips Spanish and English I would guess Spanish because Spain and Portugal are so close. English. That seems to be the second language EVERYWHERE now!!! (even in the U.S.) english is the 2nd language most portugese speaking preferably. Students in Portugal have to take 7 years of a 2nd language. Usually either French or English. Most take English. I have family in Portugal and they tend to speak English pretty well. |
